President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, showed excitement for Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s initiative to bring hundreds of Brazilian entrepreneurs to Indonesia. The statement came after a bilateral meeting between Prabowo and Lula at Palácio do Planalto in Brasília. Prabowo warmly welcomed the plan, highlighting the potential to enhance cooperation between the two countries, especially in trade and investment. During the discussion, Prabowo emphasized the common interests and vast potential for economic growth that Indonesia and Brazil share. He acknowledged the significance of moving beyond signed agreements to actualize beneficial cooperation between the nations. Additionally, Prabowo praised Brazil’s achievements in agriculture and bioenergy, expressing Indonesia’s eagerness to learn from their success. He appreciated Lula’s support for Indonesia’s plan to send technical teams to study Brazil’s innovations. Apart from his visit to Brasília, Prabowo attended the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro. President Lula is set to visit Indonesia in October, and Prabowo mentioned preparing a grand celebration for Lula’s 80th birthday in Jakarta.
