These initiatives aim to disrupt the cycle of poverty and provide opportunities for those in need, especially children born into disadvantaged families. Education is highlighted as a crucial factor in breaking this cycle and ensuring a better future for all. President Prabowo’s administration has set ambitious goals to eliminate extreme poverty by 2026 and reduce the national poverty rate to below 5 percent by 2029. Implementing social interventions and community empowerment programs are key strategies in achieving these targets. Adita Irawati from the Presidential Communications Office outlined the administration’s three-pronged strategy to combat poverty, including initiatives like People’s School, Red-and-White Village Cooperatives, and Free Health Checks in Schools. These programs are designed to improve the health and economic well-being of millions of Indonesians, with a focus on empowering local communities and creating new job opportunities.
