President Prabowo Subianto recently visited former President Joko Widodo at his residence in Solo to discuss updates from his recent state visits to several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Belgium, and France. During the meeting, Prabowo shared details of his international tour and the significant breakthroughs achieved, particularly in relation to the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the European Union after a decade of negotiations.
Arriving at Jokowi’s residence accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Prabowo was warmly welcomed by Jokowi and First Lady Iriana. The meeting between the two former presidents was described as cordial and relaxed, focusing on current issues and key highlights from Prabowo’s 15-day diplomatic tour.
Expressing gratitude for the positive outcomes of the tour, Prabowo highlighted the growing international recognition of Indonesia’s strong standing and commitment to neutrality and peaceful cooperation. He emphasized Indonesia’s reputation as a non-aligned country, known for its avoidance of political blocs and its approach of seeking friendship with all nations while refraining from interfering in their domestic affairs.
Accompanying Prabowo at the meeting with Jokowi were State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Angga Raka Prabowo. This gathering served as an opportunity to further strengthen diplomatic ties and discuss the nation’s stance on global issues, reflecting Indonesia’s dedication to maintaining peaceful relationships with all countries.
