Optimizing BGN’s Recruitment Strategy for MBG Nutrition Program Kitchens

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is actively working to boost local employment by hiring workers for Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) from individuals in extreme poverty. Redy Hendra Gunawan, Special Staff to BGN, stated that a minimum of 30% of SPPG personnel will be chosen from underprivileged households, aligning with the President’s directive to ensure the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program contributes to job creation. Currently, there are 2,378 SPPG units in collaboration with 6,076 local economic institutions, with 93,572 community members volunteering in the program. The MBG Program has benefited more than 7.4 million individuals nationwide, including students, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, toddlers, and others. To broaden the program’s impact, BGN aims to establish an additional 2,401 SPPG units in the next 10 days, targeting around 15 million beneficiaries. This effort highlights a substantial endeavor to support employment and address nutritional needs in disadvantaged communities.
