President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, embarked on a journey to Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday evening via the Whoosh high-speed train, accompanied by members of the public from Halim Station in Jakarta. Upon his arrival at the station around 7:45 p.m. local time, Prabowo was dressed in a cream-colored outfit, complemented by a matching jacket and navy blue cap, seamlessly blending in with fellow passengers as he proceeded through the ticket gate and up the escalator to the platform.
His unexpected presence sparked surprise and excitement among commuters, with Prabowo warmly engaging with the crowd and waving to onlookers as he made his way to the platform. Before boarding the train, he graciously took time to pose for photos with the Whoosh crew. The high-speed train departed for Tegalluar Station in Bandung precisely at 8:00 p.m.
President Prabowo’s visit is in anticipation of the upcoming 2025 Indonesian Convention on Science, Technology, and Industry (KSTI) at the Sasana Budaya Ganesa (Sabuga), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) from August 7 to 9. Scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the convention, Prabowo will be joined by Nobel Laureate Konstantin Novoselov and Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto in discussing the theme “Economic Growth and Equity Through Mastery of Science and Technology.”
KSTI 2025 is positioned to be a pivotal strategic platform at both the national and international levels, providing a forum for collaboration and innovation in the realm of science and technology.
