Jakarta – The President-elect of Indonesia for the term 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, quickly resumed his duties just a week after successfully undergoing surgery for a leg injury. Prabowo attended the 78th anniversary of Bhayangkara held at Monas, Jakarta, on Monday (July 1), which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and attended by the public, ministers from the Indonesia Maju Cabinet, ambassadors from various countries, the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), along with his staff, and retired members of the Indonesian National Police (Polri).
Dressed in a gray suit, Prabowo was personally greeted by Jokowi at the beginning of the ceremony. He stood upright and saluted, receiving applause from the attendees.
Previously, on Sunday (June 30), Prabowo announced the success of his operation on his personal Instagram account @prabowo.
“God willing, with my health restored, I am more prepared than ever to serve and dedicate myself to the country and the people of Indonesia. Thank you to everyone for their prayers and support,” said Prabowo.
The long-standing injury was due to two parachuting accidents while Prabowo was still active in the TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces).
Prabowo expressed his gratitude to Allah SWT and thanked the medical team at the National Defense Central Hospital (RSPPN) Panglima Besar Soedirman, Bintaro, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta, who handled his treatment.
“I am aware and understand that the medical procedure I underwent was filled with risks and life-threatening stakes. I reassure myself that all of this is for the country and the nation. I am confident that the medical team and all the medical personnel handling it are skilled and professional,” he explained.
He also expressed his gratitude to Jokowi for the support provided during his surgical process.
“Thank you to President RI @jokowi for providing moral support and prayers.”
