President Prabowo Subianto recently visited Sentosa Funeral Home at RSPAD Gatot Subroto in Central Jakarta to pay his respects to the late Kwik Kian Gie, a highly regarded economist and national statesman. The President was warmly welcomed by Kwik Kian Gie’s family before he paid his respects to the deceased. During his lifetime, Kwik Kian Gie was known for advocating Pancasila-based economics and making significant contributions to the country. President Prabowo expressed his sadness over the loss of not just an economist, but also a friend and mentor who had provided valuable insights into Indonesia’s development. Despite his age of 90, Kwik had remained actively engaged in sharing his thoughts and recommendations with the President. His passing marks the loss of one of Indonesia’s finest sons.
