Tirta Suparjo emerged as the champion of the Darts National Competition Series 02 after defeating Suwendi 3-1 in the final at Gading Festival Food & Fun, Sedayu City, Kelapa Gading, Jakarta, on Sunday (28/4/2024). William Lee completed the podium by beating Stephanus Putera 3-1 in the third-place playoff.
Tirta Suparjo defeated Sergio Stephen (2-1), Liovio Delpialo (2-0), and Stephanus Putera (3-0) to reach the final match. Meanwhile, Suwendi overcame Rudi Rustandi (2-0), Putra Fajar Utama (2-1), and William Lee (3-1) to set up a rematch in the final.
The two players had previously faced off in the group stage, with Tirta Suparjo coming out on top with a 2-1 victory in the match held a day earlier.
In the final, Tirta Suparjo once again demonstrated his superiority. He successfully defended his title after previously winning the Darts National Competition Series 01. “I want to win all the series if possible,” Tirta said after the competition.
Tirta admitted that the competition in the second series was tougher than before due to two reasons. “There were more participants in the second series. The location was also outdoors this time, adding to the challenge,” Tirta continued.
